When Gage Harrison, a semi-successful author, is contacted by a woman named Emilee Duvall, he has no idea of the story he is about to be told. Emilee Duvall claims to be a long dead woman by the name of Ivy Eastman, the girlfriend of a bank robber named, Royce Fincher, a man who was shot to death after pulling a job in the 1930s. Unable to pass up the opportunity, Gage meets with the woman an finds himself drawn into the story of how Emilee got caught up in the world of guns, money and murder.

When one of the angels of Heaven, the only angel to be created without wings, is sent from Heaven to retrieve the first angel created, he finds himself in a world very different from the one he is used to.
